St. Bede' s College
|学校名||St. Bede' s College|
Welcome to St Bede’s College.
St Bede’s College was founded in 1911 and moved to its present site in 1923. St Bede’s College is one of the older schools in Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand. We are lucky to have 22 hectares of grounds, which include 4 rugby fields, 2 soccer fields, an international grade artificial hockey turf, a swimming pool and a modern gymnasium. St Bede’s College has had a long tradition of both academic and sporting success. At the College you will study with boys from 13 to 18 years old. You will be able to take part in a large number of summer and winter sports.
You will be placed in homeroom class with boys of different age groups as your classmates. Your homeroom class will also be part of a “House” group, with its own House Tutor, who will take a close interest in you as you develop as a young man.
During your time at St Bede’s College, you will learn about the Catholic faith that is the foundation of all we do. You will come to understand the core values that are summed up in the College motto: “Fide et Opere – By Faith and Works”. By the time you finish studying at St Bede’s College, you will have gained a sense of empathy for your fellows, and a sense of leading by example. You will want to serve your community in whichever way you can and you will grow into a good young man.
When you graduate from St Bede’s College, you will become one of an extensive group of “Old Boys”, who can be found in all walks of life and in all countries around the world. Like them, you will be proud to say that you were, and will always be, a “Bedean”!
